Kamal Haasan on Hindu terror remark: What I spoke is historic truth
Kamal Haasan put himself in the controversies after he made a comment that the 'Independent India's first extremist was a Hindu'. Makkal Needhi Maiyam founder and Tamil actor Kamal Haasan on Wednesday said that whatever he had said only was a 'historic truth'.
The actor-turned-politician asked his opponents to make valid allegations on him, asking if he could cater to only one section of people after entering the active politics. "They got angry for what I spoke at Aravakurichi. What I spoke (there) is a historic truth. I did not lure anyone to a brawl," he said at Tiipurankundram campaign.
"Understand the meaning for the word extremist. I could have used the word terrorist or murderer (against Godse)... ours is active politics, there won't be any violence," he said while talking about the issue to drive Tamil home point.
The MNM leader also accused oppositions for editing his speech for the selective portion to took a dig at his opponents. He said that the charges made on him also apply to my media friends. "They are saying I hurt Hindu sentiments. There are so many Hindus in my family. My daughter is a believer," he added.
Let us tell you that in one rally, Kamal Haasan said on Sunday, "free India's first extremist was a Hindu", targetting Nathuram Godse who killed Mahatma Gandhi. "I am not saying this because this is Muslim-dominated area, but I am saying this before a statue of Gandhi. Free India's first extremist was a Hindu, his name is Nathuram Godse. There it (extremism, apparently) starts," he said in bypoll-bound Aravakurichi.
