Indian Army Soldier Aurangzeb, who was on holiday and was abducted by terrorists from Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on Thursday morning, his bullet-ridden body has been found. Aurangzeb was on Eid leave when a group of terrorists abducted him and shot in dead in the head and neck. Aurangzeb’s bullet-ridden body was found by a team of police and Army at Gussu village, about 10 km away from Kalampora, in Pulwama district.
Reacting to the killing of the jawan, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah tweeted, "Another piece of terrible news to add to an already horrible day. May Aurangzeb rest in peace. Allah Jannat naseeb karay(sic)."
Aurangzeb was an Indian Army jawan among the squad in the encounter of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Sameer Tiger. He was a resident of Poonch. A group of heavily-armed terrorist and taken away at gunpoint when he was on his way back home after completing his duty.
As soon as the report of Aurangzeb getting abducted came in, the Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a search for him and informed 23 Rashtriya Rifles, with which the jawan was attached. Aurangzeb's body was found just a couple of hours after veteran journalist and 'Rising Kashmir' editor Shujaat Bukhari was shot dead by terrorists outside his office in Srinagar.
