Good news! Modi government to do this big step for the children with disabilities
On 3rd December, the world is observing the day as International Day of Disabled Persons. Amid, the Modi-led government has decided a big step for such special children. As per the reports, the HRD Ministry will be going to reimburse the expenditure of disabled children on their books, uniform and transport.
As per the Minister of State for HRD Satyapal Singh has said that the HRD Ministry has given the instructions to all the schools in the country to reimbursed the amount that has been incurred on the books, uniforms and transport of the children with disabilities.
Singh has announced it during the award ceremony organised by the National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People and Mindtree.
He added that there are around 12 million people with disabilities and only one per cent of them go to schools.
He said that the special challenged persons don’t need a sympathy or courtesy, but they should be empowered through education.
Singh said at the Helen Keller Awards 2018 that ‘all the schools in the country that all the expenditure incurred on books, uniform and transport will be reimbursed by the government.’
Also, girl child will also get Rs 200 per month, Singh announced. From this academic session, there will be a minimum 5 per cent admission given to such students in all educational bodies.
"It is one of the top most priority for this government to make sure that the rights of specially challenged people are ensured," Minister of State for HRD Satyapal Singh said.
