Hyderabad veterinary doctor rape, murder: Burnt body of another woman found in same locality

Hours after Hyderabad Police arrested four persons in connection with the brutal rape and murder case of a veterinary doctor, another burnt body of a woman was found in the same locality.

The dead body was at a deserted place under Samshabad police limits and the identity is yet to be known.

The suspected killing of the unidentified woman was reported from the same area -Shamshabad- where the woman veterinarian was raped and killed by four workers on November 27.

According to reports, some passersby noticed the burnt body and informed the local police. Police personnel were rushed to the spot who sent the body to a state-run hospital.

Though, it was not clear whether the woman committed suicide by setting herself ablaze or whether she was killed, it is belived that modus operandi looks similar to the crime occurred on Wednesday night.


Earlier in the day, the Cyberabad Police arresred four persons including the prime suspect in the rape and murder of a veterinary doctor on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Thursday.

"After investigation four people were taken into custody at Shadnagar police station, their names are Mohammad Areef, Jollu Shiva, Jollu Naveen, and Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu," the police informed during the presser.

"Request will be made to handover the case to the fast track court, Mahbubnagar to expedite the prosecution for maximum punishment to the accused persons," Cyberabad Police informed.

The victim had gone to the hospital and returned home on Wednesday evening. She again left around 5.50 PM to visit another clinic and parked her two-wheeler near Shamshabad toll plaza and took a shared cab.

Her younger sister in her police complaint had said she got a call from her sibling at 9.22 PM on Wednesday, stating she was still at the toll plaza as someone told her that her scooter had a flat tyre and offered to help her, taking the two-wheeler.

She also informed her sister that she was scared as there was a lorry in the vicinity and some people who had offered her help were near the vehicle, the complainant said.

The complainant said she called her sister again at 9.44 PM, but the phone was switched off following which they approached the police.

The body was found near a culvert on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru national highway, which is around 25 km from the toll plaza where she was last seen.
