After the Kerala student go trolled over selling fish after college hours, the Kerala police on Saturday arrested the person who allegedly trolled the student on the social media.
The police is interrogating the accused Noorudden Sheikh and registered a complaint against him. A police officer said that he has been booked under various sections of the IT Act. The provision will also attract non-bailable offences.
The 19-year-old Hanan Hamid, who is a final year graduate student of Chemistry, has become a issue of public discussion when it came to light that she was earning her livelihood by selling fish and also doing odd jobs as junior artiste in films. She was reportedly trying to take care of her sick mother who was got separated from her husband.
Surprisingly, it was the troll accused Sheikh who brought to light her struggles for livelihood by posting a selfie on social media. Later, he came down heavily against her and started questioning her conditions by posting her another photos with Malayalam movie’s super star Mohanlal.
As soon as Sheikh’s post went viral, she was abused as saying “a fake and doing all she did only to impress to superstar Mohanlal to land a role with his son Pranav Mohanlal in an upcoming film”.
Expressing her happiness over the arrest of the accused, she said "Now I have realised that with the support I am getting from the government and my college, I have now got so many guardians”.
The police is tracking the social media posts and will take action against more people who abused her.
They registered a case against the cyber bullies after Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s Facebook post supporting Ms Hamid on Friday.
