Gujarat: 13-year-old boy lures minor girl with sweets, rapes her

A horrific incident was reported from Gujarat’s Surat village wherein an 11-year-old girl was raped by a minor boy aged 13 on Thursday evening. As per reports, the girl was alone at home as her parents went to withdraw cash from an ATM.

The incident took place in the evening when the minor boy who resides in the same locality saw the girl’s parents left her alone at home. He immediately went up to the victim’s house and lured the girl by offering to buy sweets from a shop in the neighbourhood.

The girl agreed and went with her to buy sweets, however, the boy took her to his house. He took her to an empty room in his house and once he reached inside the room, he slapped her and then raped the minor.

The incident came to light when the victim’s parents came home and found her weeping. Upon asking her, the girl narrated the ordeal that she was raped by the boy in the neighbourhood.

On hearing this victim’s parents immediately rushed to the boy’s house and raised the objection, however, both the families started fighting and amid all this accuse’s parents slapped the girl’s father.

As per police the victim’s father then approached them and filed an FIR against the accuse. Police have booked the boy under Sections 376 (2) (f) (Commits rape on a woman when she is under 12 years of age), 363 (Punishment for kidnapping) and under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

As per police, the boy was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board and was later sent to a judicial remand home.
