Gautam Gambhir to Arvind Kejriwal on Atishi pamphlet row: If he can prove that, I will hang myself in public
AAP leader Manish Sisodia and Atishi allegedly accused BJP East Delhi candidate Gautam Gambhir of being involved in the distribution of "absence and derogatory" pamphlets against Atishi. Now Gautam Gambhir has come to defend himself and tweeted that he will hang himself in public if the allegations got proved.
Gautam Gambhir took Twitter to respond and challenged Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to prove the allegations on him or either Kejriwal should leave politics.
"If he [Arvind Kejriwal] can prove that I have anything to do with this pamphlet filth, then I will hang myself in public. Otherwise, @ArvindKejriwal should quit politics. Accepted?" Gautam Gambhir tweeted to give the challenge.
Gambhir in some series of tweets said he is ashamed to have Arvind Kejriwal as chief minister of Delhi and he the allegations got proved he will withdraw his candidature. "You can't tarnish someone's image without proof. I have never given a negative statement against any opposition candidate in my election campaigning," Gambhir said in a press statement.
However, Atishi slammed Gambhir for failing to condemn the 'false' note. In an interview to a media platform, Atishi said, Gautam Gambhir should have been the first to demand an investigation into the origin of the controversial pamphlets.
