‘Gadi Palat Na Jaae’: Watch UP Minister warns criminals

Amid the ongoing uproar by the opposition parties over the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh after the brutal murder of Umesh Pal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Cooperation Department JPS Rathore on March 1 said that stringent action would be taken against the accused.

Warning criminals, the state minister said that if the accused resist while sitting in the police vehicle, the van might meet with an accident.

“माफियाओं के ठिकानों पर पुलिस के द्वारा दबिश दी जा रही है। इनको पाताल लोक से भी खोज कर लाएंगे। जब ये पकड़े जाएं तो गाड़ी में बैठते समय हाय तोबा न करें, ड्राइवर असंतुलित होकर गाड़ी पलट न जाए: उ.प्र. सरकार में मंत्री जे.पी.एस. राठौर,” he said. (The bases of the mafia are being raided by the police. We will find the accused even from the hell. After being caught, do not resist while sitting in the police van, the vehicle could met with an accident: Rough Translation).

Minister Rathore gave an example of criminal Vikas Dubey, who was arrested in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain while visiting the Mahakaleshwar Temple and was encountered while en route to Kanpur.

On February 24, armed assailants attacked Umesh Yadav and two gunmen in front of his house in broad day light. Lawyer by profession, Pal was a key witness in 2005 murder case of BSP MLA Rahu Pal. It is the same case in which Ahmad and his brothers are co-accused. Pal’s family filed a case against Ahmad and his family for killing him.

On Monday, Arbaaz was shot and killed by police during an encounter near Nehru Park in Prayagraj. He was said to be a close associate of Ahmad and carried a bounty of Rs 50,000.

The police claimed that Arbaaz was driving the vehicle on which the attackers came and escaped from the attack site.
