FIR against Gautam Gambhir for holding rally in East Delhi without permission

Election Commission has directed East Delhi Returning Officer to file an FIR against Gautam Gambhir, Bhartiya Janata Party's candidate from east Delhi for holding a rally in his constituency without taking prior permission.

Cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir must face action for "holding a political rally without taking the permission", the Election Commission said.

According to reports, cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir had not taken permission for his April 25 rally in Delhi's Jangpura, which violates the model code of conduct, the Election Commission said.
