'Fate is like rape, enjoy if you can't resist’: Controversial FB post by Kerela MP's wife

Kerala Congress MP’s wife has sparked controversy after writing a contentious post on rape on her Facebook account on Monday.

In an FB post which has been deleted from the account now, the wife of Congress MP wrote, “ Fate is like rape if you can't resist it then try to enjoy it.” She has also shared two videos of waterlogging in front of their house in Kochi and that of her husband Hibi Eden having icecream.

As per the reports, she had tried to mock at the flooded situation outside her house. But, her insensitive rape remark has landed her in trouble on social media.

Notably, the wife of Kerala Congress MP is a journalist by profession and her post escalated a problem for her. On Tuesday, she removed the post from her FB account after receiving a lot of criticism on every social media platform. Later on Tuesday, she has posted an apology post and stated that she doesn’t want to hurt any woman who has faced the trauma of such a heinous crime.

In 2013, former CBI director Ranjit Sinha also made such insensitive remarks which also sparked outrage. The director said, “If you can’t prevent rape, you enjoy it.”
