Dream Job! This Japanese man gets paid for ‘doing nothing’
We all work long hours, six days a week, and dream of having a job where we have nothing to do. Perhaps this Japanese man is living the life of our dreams.
Shoji Morimoto gets paid to do ‘nothing’. Yes, you read that right! Knowing about his lifestyle, you’ll surely be jealous of Morimoto.
This 38-year-old man from Tokyo charges 10,000 yen (approx Rs 5,633) per booking to accompany his clients and simply exist as a companion.
Basically, Shoji Morimoto rents himself as a companion for some hours. According to Reuters, this 38-year-old man has gone to over 4,000 sessions in the last 4 years.
Morimoto, who has more than 250k followers on Twitter, claimed that the majority of his clients exclusively get in touch with him there. Among them, one of the clients hired him around 270 times.
However, Shoji Morimoto has set some rules when it comes to choosing a job. He has declined invitations to move a refrigerator and travel to Cambodia. He also takes down any requests of sexual nature
The Japanese man’s most recent client was a 27-year-old girl who works as a data analyst. According to the girl, when she is with her friends she feels that she has to entertain them but with the rental-guy (Morimoto) she doesn’t feel the need to be chatty.
Before this job, Shoji Morimoto used to work at a publishing company.
