Delhi woman murdered, buried by debtors over loan dispute
In yet another horrifying incident coming in from the national capital, three men have been taken into custody by the Delhi Police for murdering and burying a woman in Delhi over pending loan debt. Her husband, identified as Charanjeet, registered a missing persons’ report on January 2 with the police, when she went missing and her mobile phone was switched off.
The police then focused attention on three suspects, identified as Mobin, Rehan and Naveen, on the basis of their cell phone tower. They had spoken to the victim and the location of the three were same.
Upon interrogating, Naveen, revealed that the three had known the woman for the last four to five years and that Rehan, killed her at Mobin’s residence in Delhi’s Mange Ram Park area and buried her at a cemetery in Nangloi, a neighbourhood in the national capital, on the intervening night of January 2 and January 3.
The deasesed woman worked as a micro financer and regularly sanctioned small amount of loans to hawkers in the west Delhi area. The woman was allegedly asking the three to return the pending amount over which the accused killed her, the police said.
The three were family friends of the victim and known to all her family members. The police have recovered the auto rickshaw that was used in the crime.
The woman’s body was exhumed and sent for post-mortem.
