Delhi Sealing Drive row: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to hold all-party meet today
To find an effective solution to the sealing drive, the Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal is to hold an all-party meeting with Supreme Court-appointed monitoring committee on unauthorised constructions today.
A government official said the CM Kejriwal has invited leaders of the Congress and the BJP to attend the meeting to be held at the Secretariat.
Last week, Mr Kejriwal had sought an appointment with the SC-appointed panel to discuss the sealing issue. “Following the recent request of Mr Kejriwal, the panel representatives will come to the Secretariat tomorrow for a meeting over sealing issue. Mr Kejriwal has also invited BJP and Congress to attend this meeting,” an official said.
Even the Delhi BJP has announced that it will be attending the all-party meeting organised by the chief minister at Secretariat on Wednesday.
Vijender Gupta, party MLA and leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly on Tuesday said, “I will go to the meeting. The Delhi unit of our party will also send its representatives.”
Manoj Tiwari, North-Delhi BJP president said, “he was ready to go to the meeting, though he had not received a formal invitation. “I am prepared to go (to the meeting), though there is no formal invite,” he said.
Earlier this month on March 13, when Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had called an all-party meeting at his residence, the BJP had not attended it. In that meeting, the AAP and the Congress had agreed to raise their voice in Parliament through their MPs against the drive.
