Delhi Chief Secretary Assault Case: Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and 11 AAP MLAs charged by Delhi Police

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia have been accused in the alleged assault case of Delhi's Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash. The Delhi police have named Kejriwal and Sisodia along with 11 other AAP MLAs in the charge sheet in the assault case, reported news agency ANI. Delhi's Patiala House Court will take cognizance on August 25.

The final report of the Delhi Chief Secretary assault case was filed before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Vishal, who put up the matter for consideration on August 25.

As per reports, two AAP MLAs Amantullah Khan and Prakash Jarwar have been booked for attacking a public servant and also refraining a public servant from performing his duties. The Chief Minister and the Deputy chief minister of Delhi have reportedly been booked under various sections of IPC, including 120B, 353 and 504.

Speaking on the matter, Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash said that he was manhandled and misbehaved by several AAP leaders at Kejriwal’s house. The Chief Secretary later filed a complaint with L-G Anil Baijal who had reportedly ordered a probe in the matter. Later, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh termed the incident an unfortunate one.

On February 19, the chief secretary was allegedly assaulted during a meeting at the chief minister’s residence by his MLAs, Kejriwal, Sisodia. Delhi police on May 18 interrogated Delhi CM for over three hours in the connection with the alleged Anshu Prakash assault case.
