Delhi: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar discharged from AIIMS; will return to Goa in evening
Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar got discharged from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Dehi on Sunday afternoon.
His health deteriorated this morning and hence he was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit, reports suggested. Although, he was released from the ICU later on and then discharged from the hospital as well by the late afternoon.
Parrikar was admitted in AIIMS for the treatment of the advanced pancreatic ailment and he was undergoing the treatment for the same since last month.
Manohar Parrikar will be returning back to Goa this evening but the Union Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Naik suggested that Parrikar should have stayed back at AIIMS and healed completely.
The Congress party’s Goa unit has been demanding resignation of the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who lately started working and clearing the files from the AIIMS itself. It was clear that Congress was trying to prove a majority in the state where BJP was in a minority and was running the government with the help of alliance partners.
The Opposition alleged that the BJP has been trying to force the mandate on people which never favoured the party; it should be noted that it was the Congress which got the highest number of votes in the Assembly elections.
The BJP has no right to run the government in the state, the Congress said in its official statement.
Earlier, some reports suggested that BJP started looking for a new face to inject as the CM of Goa but BJP president Amit Shah cleared the air that Manohar Parrikar would continue as the Chief Minister.
