Coronavirus in India: Total number of cases rise to 6,412, death toll near 200-mark
In excess of 650 positive cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, ending Friday morning, has taken India’s total above 6,400 while the death toll is about to set foot on 200 mark.
As maintained by the Union Health Ministry, the total number of positive coronavirus cases in India has mounted to 6,412. these consist of 5,709 active cases while 504 have been cured or discharged.
In its updated data at 9 am, the health ministry added that India has observed a rise of 547 fresh coronavirus cases and 30 deaths in the last 12 hours.

At 1,364, the state of Maharashtra has witnessed the highest number of Covid-19 cases in India thus far. Followed by Tamil Nadu at 834 and Delhi at 720. The state of Telangana has recorded 442 cases.
The death toll because of Covid-19 in India has soared to 199. the health ministry stated at least 30 new deaths have been recorded since Thursday evening.
25 deaths have been reported from Maharashtra, three from the national capital and one each from Gujarat and Jharkhand. Maharashtra has recorded the most Covid-19 deaths at 97, it is followed by Gujarat at 17, Madhya Pradesh 16 and Delhi 12.
Punjab and Tamil Nadu have recorded eight deaths each while Telengana has recorded seven deaths.
