Cooch Behar Violence: Amit Shah targets Mamata Banerjee, says 'CM provoked clash, attack'
Home Minister Amit Shah has stated that Mamata Banerjee's appeal to people to attack security forces provoked the people that lead to an attack on the central forces. In the ensuing violence, four people lost their lives when CISF personnel opened fire to control the mob during the fourth phase of Assembly Polls in West Bengal on Saturday.
According to ANI, While addressing a rally on Sunday, Home Minister claimed that "some youngsters under the misguidance of Didi attacked CISF personnel and tried to snatch their weapons on Saturday".
Amit Shah termed the whole incident sad but questioned the need and motive behind this attack on central forces. He termed Mamata Banerjee's recent appeal during an election meeting responsible for the attack.
Commenting on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's demand seeking resigntion of Home Minister, he said: "Didi is repeatedly saying that Amit Shah must resign. Didi when people ask me to resign the I will. But you must prepare now as you will have to resign on May 2".
