Class 12 girl dies by suicide in Delhi after CBSE result
A Class 12 girl student committed suicide in the national capital after failing in two subjects, the Delhi Police said on May 14.
According to the police, the girl left home on May 12, leaving behind a suicide note, and has reportedly been missing since then.
When the girl didn’t return home, her parents informed the police and filed a complaint at Aman Vihar Police Station, following which the police initiated a search.
Today, the body of the Class 12 girl was found half submerged in a drain.
The police have sent the body for autopsy and lodged a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the Class 10 and Class 12 results on its official website on May 12 since the girl had gone missing.
Further investigation is underway.
In a similar incident, an 18-year-old student died by suicide at her house in Haryana’s Sonepat on May 12 after she failed to clear the Class 12 accountancy paper in the CBSE board exams.
As per the girl’s mother, she was tensed as her exams didn’t go well and locked herself in the room after the results were announced.
“There’s a shortage of teachers at the government school where she studied in Rai. We tried to console her but she was upset and wanted to be left alone,” said the girl’s mother.
