Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections 2018: IED bomb detected near a polling booth in Sukma's Konta; security tighten

An IED bomb detected near a polling booth Konta's Banda in Sukma on the First phase polling for Chhattisgarh assembly elections. Three IEDs have been detected near a polling booth in Konta's Banda and CRPF Bomb disposal squad is in the process of defusing.

Voters queued outside a makeshift polling booth established under a tree, away from the actual polling booth. Security has been tightened near all the polling in the Naxal affected district of Chhattisgarh. Around 1 lakh security personnel, including paramilitary forces, have been deployed across the state.


All parties including the Congress, former CM Ajit Jogi's party, Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj party into neck-to-neck fight to snatch power in the state, while the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party on hope to retain the power in the state.

Following phase one of the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections on Monday, the rest of the 72 constituencies will vote on November 20. The votes will be counted on December 11 along with that of Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Rajasthan and the resulted will be announced
