Caught On Cam: Thieves uproot ATM machine, loot Rs 8 lakh in Rajasthan
Thieves uprooted ATM machine and fled away with Rs 8 lakh cash in Rajasthan's Ajmer district yesterday night. The incident was caught on CCTV installed at the ATM booth.
In the CCTV footage, three masked thieves can be seen entering the ATM booth of the Bank of Baroda bank in the Sursura area under the jurisdiction of Roopangarh Police Station.
The thieves can be seen tying a chain on the ATM machine, then a vehicle pulls the chain and uproots the ATM machine. The thieves then force open the ATM and flee away with the cash. The incident occurred at around 1:30 am and Rs 8 lakh were present in the machine.

Similarly, another ATM machine was uprooted and Rs 30 lakh were looted in Arain on January 24. The district police said that the method of both the robberies was the same and suspect that the same gang that looted the ATM machine in Arain also executed the incident in Roopangarh.
Cases were registered and a hunt is on to nab the culprits.
Notably, crime incidents in the desert state have increased recently. Yesterday some miscreants killed a 65-year-old woman and took away her gold jewelry in Rajsamand district yesterday.
The incident took place in a forest in Kajiguda village of Selaguda Gram Panchayat, under the jurisdiction of Amet Police Station, when the elderly woman went for goat herding.
The miscreants slit the throat of the elderly and took away her jewellery that includes a gold neck piece, bangles and some cash.
