Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Mayawati extended her party's support to the decisions of the central government regarding Bangladesh. In a post on X, she stated that it is important for all parties to back the government's decisions in such situations. "In view of the rapidly changing political situation in Bangladesh, today's all-party meeting is crucial. BSP supports the decisions of the Central Government," Mayawati said.

The situation in Bangladesh remains volatile after Sheikh Hasina's resignation amid escalating protests. Initially driven by students demanding an end to the quota system for government jobs, the protests have expanded into broader anti-government demonstrations.

All-Party Meeting in Delhi
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar chaired an all-party meeting in Delhi earlier today to discuss the situation in Bangladesh. The meeting included Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Kiren Rijiju, HD Kumaraswamy, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, opposition MPs KC Venugopal, and Supriya Sule. Jaishankar briefed the leaders on the unrest in Bangladesh.

Following the briefing, Rahul Gandhi expressed serious concerns about India's foreign policy but supported the measures taken by the Indian government, noting that these actions are in the national interest. RJD’s Concerns and YSRCP’s Support
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders raised concerns about the safety of minorities and the need for increased security at the border. YSRCP member Vijaysai Reddy voiced full support for the government's approach, stating it is in the nation's best interest.

Questions About Sheikh Hasina’s Whereabouts
Several attendees inquired about Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's location. The government responded, "Sheikh Hasina is in India, and the NSA (National Security Advisor) and his team are taking care of her," according to sources.

Recent Clashes and Casualties
Recent clashes in Dhaka have led to at least 135 fatalities, including 14 police officers, with hundreds more injured, local media reports.
