BJP leader shoots wife, flees the crime scene in Bhopal
Bhopal: In a tragic incident in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader allegedly shot his wife during a dispute while under the influence of alcohol. The incident took place in the early hours of Tuesday in Sai Nagar Colony.
The dispute escalates into a fatal shooting
According to Additional Commissioner of Police Chandrashekhar Pandey, the altercation occurred around 1 am at Sai Nagar Colony under the jurisdiction of Ratibad police station.
Rajendra Pandey, a BJP leader, was reportedly intoxicated and engaged in a dispute with his wife.
In a fit of rage, he shoots her with a 12-bore gun, resulting in a fatal injury to her waist.
Accused absconds, a search operation initiated
Following the tragic incident, Rajendra Pandey fled the scene, leaving his daughter and son-in-law, who were present in the house at the time of the incident.
The police have launched a search operation to apprehend the accused. Rajendra Pandey, a former Mandal Vice President of BJP, is currently evading arrest, and his current designation within the party is unknown.
