Bihar: Rakesh Singh expelled from JD(U)
JD(U) leader Rakesh Singh was expelled from the party on 1 November for his alleged involvement with the liquor mafia in the state.
Singh is the prime accused in the 2012 hooch case in which 18 persons died after consuming spurious liqour.
He was the JD(U) block president of Udwant Nagar in Bhojpur district.
A photo of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with Singh that had recently gone viral was slammed by ousted deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav who shared the picture on his Twitter handle.
Yadav took a dig at the chief minister for supporting a criminal.
The JD(U) immediately removed Singh as the party's block president and expelled him from primary membership of the party.
