A shocking incident came to light from Bengaluru where a BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) Volvo bus driver took laws in his hand. A video is going viral on social media where a driver can be seen slapping a two-wheeler rider for allegedly attempting to cross over the bus in Mahadevapura on Thursday.

The male biker and woman rider who were not wearing helmets reportedly tried to cross the bus from one end to the other side of the road. The video was uploaded by one of the passengers sitting the bus named Hamid and wrote, “This horrible incident happened today morning on my way to office dis morning.. Does BMTC personnel have the rights to take the law into their hands and beat up a private citizen in public?”

 

In the video, he confronted the driver over his action, on hearing this he shouted at him and said, “Who are you to ask? You should speak in Kannada.” Hamid then replied to him in the local language “Regret the inconvenience caused. Taking note of this, serious action will be initiated against the erring crew.

Reacting on this video BMTC managing director C Shikha said that the driver was a trainee and they have launched an investigation on him.

However, the driver in his statement said that the two-wheeler rider was over speeding and would have hit the bus causing an accident. Owing to this he got scared that he might lose his job and went down to scold the rider.

 

Also, Bengaluru City Police commissioner Bhaskar Rao re-tweeted Hamid’s post and wrote, “This is institutional road rage, could you share location, law and order police will take immediate action..”
