Bengal: Shocking! Four women beaten, stripped on suspicion of being child lifters; police rescued

Child lifting suspicion cases seem to be increasing more day-by-day. Another shocking incident has come to light from Bengal where four women beat up and two of them stripped by a mob in the village Jalpaiguri district on Monday afternoon on the suspicion of being a child lifter. A mob had gathered after hearing the news that the four women are child lifter.

Later, police rescued all the women. According to the reports of HT, ‘we rescued the women from the mob. No arrest has been made till night’, said Sanjay Dutta, inspector-in-charge of Dhupguri police station.

However, several cases have come to light across the country where many people have beaten up by the mob in the suspicion of being a child lifter.

Reportedly, the two women belonged to Hospital Para in Dhupguri town while one is from Station More area of Dhupguri and the fourth one is from the Court More area of Siliguri town.

As per the reports, the four women had gone to Daukimari village market which is about 5 km from Dhupguri. The two of the lady had gone to the office of a microfinance company while one went to meet her relatives and the other was went to sell clothes.

This shocking and shameful incident occurred when some people alleged that these women are child lifters and spread the rumour in the market. Sooner, the mob gathered and assaulted the women. Reports said that the two of the women even stripped and also the mob took them to a local club.

However, on hearing the news about this case, Police immediately come to action and resorted to lathi charge. Police rescued all the women and allow to go to their homes.
