CNG Price Hike

The prices of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) were hiked in October 2022 from Rs 47 to Rs 78. This hike came as a major setback for the autorikshaw and taxi drivers as it directly impacted their earnings. CNG prices in Delhi have gone up by a record Rs 22.60 per kg in 14 installments since March 7. The reason behind the price hike is a surge in input natural gas prices. The current price of CNG in Delhi is Rs 78.61 per kg.

Since April 2021 the CNG prices have increased drastically in the national capital. The prices have been hiked by 80 percent since 2021.  In April 2021, CNG will cost Rs 43.40 per kg.

Several representations from autorickshaw and taxi associations met Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot and requested them to increase the fares.
