Auto Expo is Asia's one of the largest motor show of its kind that had a kickoff start in India on February 9 in Greater Noida and will cherish its visitors till 14 this year. Ths year car enthusiasts will get to witness at least 50 EVs and hybrid exhibition at Auto Expo 2018.
On Thursday, the passenger car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Ltd unveiled the third-generation variant of its top-selling Swift at Auto Expo in Delhi.
The Maruti Suzuki launched the Swift in Indian Market in 2005, since then the swift has been among the best-selling models in the country. Swift had a cumulative 1.8 million units sale. However, from last two-three years, it had been sidelined by Maruti's own Baleno and Hyundai Motor India Ltd’s i10 Grand and i20 Elite.
“The third generation of the Swift will drive us in the coming years,” said Kenichi Ayukawa, managing director and chief executive at Maruti Suzuki, at the launch.
The latest model of Maruti Suzuki's Swift is equipped with its auto gear shift technology, which would enhance fuel efficiency and convenience, according to Ayukawa. The young urban car buyer aimed at the Swift, after its 50% of Swift buyers purchased their first car.
“With its sporty stance, bold attitude and exciting performance, we are confident the Swift will be much appreciated,” Ayukawa said.
The base price of Maruti Suzuki Swift is 000 (ex-showroom, New Delhi), the Swift is one of the most competitively priced hatchbacks in the country.
The Latest model of Swift is built on a modified version of the fifth-generation Heart platform shared by the Baleno and Swift Dzire. While it's engine options are unchanged from the earlier variant, the platform makes the car lighter, stronger and more peppy to drive, said R.S. Kalsi, senior executive director, marketing, and sales.
The refreshed edition of the car also complies with wide-range safety norms is all set to kick in this year. The car is available both in petrol and diesel variants with the company’s auto gear shift technology.
The model is the first to be launched under Maruti’s Arena network, described as “more inclusive and digital” by Kalsi.
While taking to mint In January Kalsi said he is confident of meeting demand with the Hansalpur plant in Gujarat set to produce 150,000 units this year and 250,000 units by the next.
The all-new Swift comes with a new exciting design, enhanced performance, and advanced passenger, pedestrian and child safety. For the first time, Swift offers the acclaimed auto gear shift technology for the convenience of customers.
