Assembly Elections 2018: Mayawati's BSP refuse to support BJP; Akhilesh Yadav joins hands with Congress in MP

As Madhya Pradesh assembly election results are no lesser than a seesaw and not clear who will form its government in the state, both BJP and Congress, the leading party are in talks with Mayawati's BSP. As per media reports, Akhilesh Yadav, former UP CM and Samajwadi Party chief had declared his support for Congress in Madhya Pradesh, reports IndiaToday.

The recent result trends hint a hung assembly with no clear leads, following which Akhilesh Yadav party will surely emerge as a power booster for the Congress. Meanwhile, Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) can become 'King Maker' that can make or break it for the Congress in Madhya Pradesh.

Now, both camps of Congress and BJP are in touch with Mayawati's BSP in Madhya Pradesh. Media reports, however, say that BSP won't be supporting the saffron party. Though, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan is personally talking to BSP.

The polling in Madhya Pradesh was held on November 28 after a tightly-fought contest between the incumbent BJP and the main opposition Congress.

The results for the crucial assembly elections are semi-final for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections that have started coming in after counting across centres. Any party will require at least 116 seats in the 230-member Madhya Pradesh assembly to form the government.
