Assam: DSP arrested in job-for-cash scam
Assam Police have arrested Deputy Superintendent Kavita Das from Duliajan for her alleged involvement in Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) job-for-cash scam.
Superintendent of Police Dibrugarh Surajeet Singh Panesar also confirmed the same on Sunday.
"Dibrugarh Police has arrested DSP Kavita Das from Duliajan. She is an accused in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) job-for-cash scam," said Panesar, Superintendent of Police.
On July 19, Assam police arrested Pallavi Sharma, daughter of Bharatiya Janata Party MP RP Sharma, and 18 other government officers in connection with the case.
Earlier, police had filed charge sheet against former APSC chairman Rakesh Kumar Paul and few other members in the case.
Police had also identified 25 officers of the 2015 batch, who had bribed APSC officials to get jobs through doctored answer scripts.
Out of those 25 officials, 13 were in Assam Civil Services, seven in Assam Police Services and the rest are in allied civil services.
