Assam: Brown Sugar worth 7.42 crore seized, 1 arrested

The Tengnoupal Battalion of the Assam Rifles foiled a major narcotics smuggling operation in Tengnoupal district and arrested a man on February 18. The personnel seized a huge cache of brown sugar (3.710 kg) from the accused person.

The value of the seized narcotics in the international market is approximately is Rs 7.42 crore.

The Tengnoupal Battalion conducted a joint operation with the Assam Police in Village Chamol after receiving a tipoff. The police have registered a case against the man, and they are currently questioning him to reveal the involvement of drug rackets in the narcotics smuggling.
