Asaram Bapu: Neither I am 'saint' nor 'preacher', 'I am a donkey'
The self-styled godman Asaram Bapu, who is facing court trial for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenage girl once again landed himself in controversy.
When a reporter asked him since the parishad, the apex body of Hindu saints in the country, had made it clear that Asaram was neither a "saint" nor a "preacher".
Irked by Journalist's question Asaram replied, “The category of donkeys”. Asaram had not been talking to the media during his court appearances of late in the wake of a petition filed in the high court, objecting to the presence of his devotees on the court premises.
Earlier, Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad of India has released a list of 14 fake babas in the country. The list of these babas was released in their executive meeting in Allahabad.
The list of fake Babas includes Asaram alias Ashmal Sharmani, Sukhwinder Kaur alias Radhe Ma, Sachidanand Giri alias Sachin Datta, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Dera Sacha Sirsa, Om Baba alias Vivekanand Jha, Nirmal Baba alias Nirmaljit Singh, Yashadhari Bhimanand aka Shivamurthy Dwivedi, Swami Aseemand, O Nam Nam Baba, Narayan Sai, Rampal, Hussan Muni, Jupiter Giri and Malkan Giri.
The Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad is the apex organisation of Hindu Sants (saints) and Sadhus (ascetics) in India. All India Akhara Council is composed of 14 Akharas or organisations of Hindu saints and sadhus. The president of the Akhara Parishad, Narendra Giri also said, “Such hypocrite babas should be put in jails, also their assets must be probed.”
“We appeal to even the common people to beware of such charlatans who belong to no tradition and by their questionable acts, bring disrepute to sadhus and sanyasis,” he further said.
