Article 370 scrapped in J&K: Mehbooba Mufti says, 'today marks darkest day in Indian democracy'
The former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has responded on revoking Article 370 in Jammu-Kashmir. Mehbooba Mufti has called that today will be marked as the darkest day in Indian democracy. Mehbooba Mufti has totally come in the opposition of the decision taken by Modi led government.
Mehbooba Mufti just after home minister Amit Shah proposes the resolution of removing the article 370 in Jammu-Kashmir shared her views on social media. She tweeted, "Today marks the darkest day in Indian democracy. Decision of J&K leadership to reject 2 nation theory in 1947 & align with India has backfired. Unilateral decision of GOI to scrap Article 370 is illegal & unconstitutional which will make India an occupational force in J&K."
"It will have catastrophic consequences for the subcontinent. GOIs intentions are clear. They want the territory of J&K by terrorising it’s people. India has failed Kashmir in keeping its promises." she also added.
Earlier, the government took all the leaders of Jammu-Kashmir under house arrest and imposed section 144 in the whole state. In the bill, home minister Amit Shah also has proposed to remove Ladakh from the state of Jammu-Kashmir. Amit Shah also announced that PM Modi will announce the same on 7th August.
