Amritsar blast: AAP's HS Phoolka courts controversy by challenging Army chief; BJP's Anil Vij says 'AAP leaders must be questioned'

After the tragic incident of Amritsar blast, which claimed 3 lives and injured 20 people, AAP leader and senior lawyer HS Phoolka, has accused the Army chief Bipin Rawat of orchestrating the attack to prove his statement.

The AAP leader has courted controversy when he said that no one should be held responsible for the attack, until the investigation is on and the attack is being seen as a possible terror attack.

Phoolka said, “Army Chief came and made a statement. To prove his statement, he could have orchestrated the attack. This matter should be looked into. Did govt do it (attack)? Did the earlier govt do it now? It is wrong to repeatedly say that Punjab's atmosphere is not good. We must get to the root of it. Govt must get to the root of it. Those who made false statements about Maur blast, what action has been taken against them? What action has been taken against him? Punjab is a sensitive state. One must not make statements without facts. One must not make accusations. Get to the root of it - who did it? Why and how was it done? It's very important.”

In response to this, BJP leader and Haryana’s Sports Minister Anil Vij has demanded an inquiry in the matter and has said that Aam Aadmi Party’s leader must be questioned. He said, “AAP must be questioned for their possible links with Pakistan-based terrorist groups for giving pro-Pakistan statements, they raised doubts on Surgical Strikes and now shamelessly against Army Chief about the terrorist attack in Amritsar.”

Although, Phoolka has apologized about his statement and has said that his statement was misunderstood. He added that “My statement has been totally misunderstood. Please see the full video, the whole statement was actually against the Congress, and not against the respected Army Chief. Still, it was an inadvertent comment and I regret it.”
