'Ali and Bajrangbali, both are with us now': Mayawati's jab at CM Yogi Adityanath
In the election season, the political rhetoric has taken a toll over the battleground and the leaders have invoked religion and castes to polarise the election. BSP supremo Mayawati has replied with a jab to UP CM Yogi Adityanath over ‘Ali-Bajrangbali’ remark.
While sharing the dais with Akhilesh Yadav, BSP’s Mayawati took a complacent attack on the CM Yogi Adityanath and said that her party and the ‘Gathbandhan’ now have garnered support of both ‘Ali’ and ‘Bajrangbali.’
Replying to BJP’s Yogi Adityanath’s remark “Agar Congress,SP,BSP ko 'Ali' par vishwaas hai toh humein 'Bajrangbali' par vishwaas hai,” Mayawati said, “Hamare Ali aur Bajrangbali dono hain. Bajrangbali isliye bhi chaiye kyunki ye meri dalit jaati se jude hain, inki jaati ki khoj maine nahi ki, khud UP CM ne ki hai.”
Uttar Pradesh has become the epicentre for Indian politics since it holds 80 Lok Sabha seats in its pocket and the SP-BSP-RLD alliance is hoping for a caste consolidation of votes with Jat, Muslims OBC’s coming together and the Congress making it a triangular contest.
Mayawati during the rally in Deoband had earlier appealed the Muslim voters, not to get confused with Congress and vote for the Gathbandhan candidates. “I want to tell the people of the Muslim community, don't divide your votes. Instead, you should vote only for candidates of the BSP, SP (Samajwadi Party) and RLD (Rashtriya Lok Dal) so that they win,” she had said.
The star campaigner Yogi Adityanath had taken a retort over the Opposition stating that ‘Congress, SP and BSP have faith in Ali and we have faith in Bajrangbali.’
