Air India pilot could not hold back her tears while she was retiring from her service when she saw that her daughter too has become pilot.
Even the passengers boarding AIR India flight cheered as Pooja Chinchchankar walked down the aisle for the last time. The inflight announcement was made to thank her for her service.
After having worked as Air Inda’s pilot for 38 long years, on Tuesday with her final flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru, she retired.
Her farewell became memorable as her daughter Ashrrita, who is a pilot with the airline, steered the send-off. Ashrrita has been tweeting heart-felt messages about her mother’s last day as an air hostess. She witnessed her mother’s retiring day from the flight deck and has been posting about that on Twitter.
As the tweets went viral on social media, she and mother has received message of love and goodwill messages.
“Guys, tomorrow I will be flying with my mother on her retirement day, when she gracefully operates her last flight as an Air Hostess with @airindiain after 38 years of service, privileged to be her first officer tomorrow! #proud #grateful #happy," Ashrrita tweeted on Tuesday.
In another tweet, she said “So happy and honoured to be able to pilot the one flight that mattered”.
Expressing her dream come true moment, she said “It was my mom's dream to have me pilot her last flight as an Air Hostess with @airindiain. As she retires after her glorious 38 years of service, I will be carrying on with her legacy.”
Ashrrita also tweeted a video in which the passengers are seen clapping for Pooja in the Mumbai-Bengaluru flight.
“For all of you who asked, that's mom on her last flight as an operating cabin crew for @airindiain what a lovely day and what amazing passengers! So many best wishes and hugs of course I was in the flight deck,” she said.
Meanwhile, official Air India handle also tweeted a heartfelt message for both Mother and sister.
“Our heartfelt wishes to your mother and you for this special flight when she passes the baton on to you to have the privilege of serving our passengers with dedication. The legacy lives on,” Air India tweeted.
