Janta Dal United’s vice-president and election strategist Prashant Kishor has tendered his apology on behalf of his party after the Bihar government got busy with the rally of PM Narendra Modi and could not receive the martyr’s body in Patna.

In a tweet, Kishor said, “We are sorry for the error of judgement on part of those of us who should have been there with you in this hour of grief.”

Pintu Singh, a CRPF personnel who was martyred during an anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir belonged to Begusarai in Bihar and his mortal remains was brought to Patna airport at 08:30 am on Sunday. Thereafter, CM Nitish Kumar went to airport accompanied by several ministers to receive PM Narendra Modi for a huge Sankalp rally after around 3 hours.

Pintu Singh’s father Chakradhar Singh stated the ordeal, “Ministers are only concerned about remaining in power. It shows how concerned they are about the soldiers. NDA leaders were more concern about Sankalp rally of (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi. They have neglected to pay homage to a brave soldier who was killed for the country.”

The Opposition has attacked BJP and PM Modi for politicising the army and and the sacrifices of the armed forces post Pulwama blast.
