Congress releases manifesto for 2019 polls, names it 'Jan Awaaz'
As the 2019 Lok Sabha election is less than two weeks away, the Congress party has announced its manifesto for the polls and have named it ‘Jan Awaaz’ and in front, 'Hum Nibhayenge' is inscribed on it.
Congress is pitiching for an ‘Ujjwal Bharat’ in its manifesto and have already declared that it will be ‘India’s new tryst with destiny.’ The Congress had already said that the NITI Ayog will be closed and the Planning Commission will be reinstated.
Rahul Gandhi, while announcing the manifesto said, "I said that whatever is going to be in this manifesto has to be truthful, I do not want a single thing in this manifesto that is a lie because we have been hearing large number of lies spoken everyday by our PM."
In the presence of party president Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, former PM Manmohan Singh, Priyanka Gandhi and other big leaders the manifesto was launched here at the party’s headquarter at Akbar Road. The party’s manifesto committee was headed by P Chidambaram.
In a hint by Rahul Gandhi earlier, over his Twitter, the Gandhi scion said, “Real smart cities are built by good leaders. To improve quality of life in our cities we will move to directly elected Mayors with 5 yr terms & elected councils. Administration will be run by multidisciplinary teams of specialists & experts accountable to the Mayor & council.”
Adding on to his promises, Gandhi further said that “Today, there are 22 Lakh job vacancies in Government. We will have these vacancies filled by 31st March, 2020.”
