Here's what you need to know about the latest 15 minute Laser Facial
Acne, scars, wrinkles and sunburns are sometimes stubborn and might not get completely treated with skin creams or home remedies.
Though home remedies are most often the safest option, they might not show as effective a result as some modern age quick treatments do. So as you browse through several new age treatments, don't miss on the newly upgraded version of facials, the laser facial.
The laser facial has gained a lot of popularity and several youngsters prefer it over regular facial these days.
From treating blotches to leave your face a lot more rejuvenated, this 15-minute-facial is a highly effective precision treatment.
To know more about this trending facial, we spoke to Delhi-based dermatologist, Dr. Sirisha Singh, who not only explained the procedure but also elaborated on the benefits of this facial.
Laser facial vs other facials
Compared to any skin lightening treatment, this facial reaches the deepest strata of the skin and gives better glow from within.
Unlike other facials in which skin can become hydrated, the laser doesn't let that happen.
This treatment reverses the ultraviolet effect and has a deeper anti-aging effect. If going out in the sun evades you with blotches then this treatment would make your skin look younger and healthier.
Procedure followed by dermatologists
Step 1
The face is cleaned with saline and ice is applied all over the face uniformly so that the skin pores cool down.
Step 2
A conductive gel is applied so that the skin becomes a better resistor.
Step 3
Small laser shots are given on the face. The shots aren't painful, as they feel like a mosquito bite. The skin becomes warm post the shots are provided to the skin.
Step 4
After the treatment is completed, the conductive gel is wiped off the face.
Step 5
The face is then massaged with ice and a sunscreen lotion is applied thereafter.
Precautionary measures
-Normally anyone can get this facial done but people with darker skin tone have a higher risk of laser burn as compared to people with fairer skin.
-Those who have suffered from severe sun sensitivity and diseases like Erythema, Lupus Erythematosus, Hydro Vacciniforme or Solar Urticaria are advised not to have this application done.
-If a person has some kind of active infection then he/she should first get that treated and only then undergo the laser facial. Face moles do not pose any hindrance in this treatment.
-There is a possibility of skin pigmentation for those suffering from any bacterial infection.
-Ideally this facial lasts for 4-6 weeks
Before and after
This treatment is mostly conducted by dermatologists or plastic surgeons where the patient is required to only devote 15-minutes. Also, this treatment won't cost much on your pockets.
After the laser is being done, it is advisable to remain indoors to avoid ultraviolet rays. After this facial, the skin's deepest layer becomes very sensitive. So, even if you want to step out, apply high SPF sunscreen. Although this facial doesn’t hydrate the skin, one should still apply moisturiser after the treatment.
The laser facial mostly leaves the person with a reddish skin and a bit of swelling. However, these symptoms are quite common and they don't last for long.
