BIRA 91 is now official beer for 2017 Global Citizen Festival
Bira 91 has announced its partnership with the 2017 Global Citizen Festival, which is to be held in New York City on September 23.
The free-ticketed festival supports the movement to end extreme poverty by 2030. The event is a moment for some of the biggest artists in the world, advocates and Global Citizens to hold leaders accountable for their commitments towards achieving the United Nations' Global Goals for Sustainable Development.
Announcing the partnership Ankur Jain, founder and CEO of Bira 91 said, "Bira 91 is proud to be the official beer and partner of Global Citizen. A refreshingly modern beer, Imagined in India, Bira 91 believes that urban millennials have a key role to play in the mission to end extreme global poverty by 2030. As Bira 91 aspires to bring more color and flavor to beer in global cities, it is keenly conscious of the opportunity and responsibility our consumers, partners and employees have to create a positive impact to end global poverty by enabling better livelihoods for communities throughout its supply chain - from barley farmers to factory workers to service staff around the world."
Lizzie Edelman, vice president of business development and partnerships of Global Citizen, said, "Partnering with socially conscious brands like Bira 91 is key to achieving our long term mission of ending extreme poverty. Bira 91's work around the world contributing to positive community development is impressive and we look forward to supporting each other's social good programs for many years."
