Zelenskyy to Meet Biden at White House for Strategic Talks
Washington, DC [US]: US President Joe Biden will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House on September 26, the White House confirmed. The meeting aims to discuss the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict and Ukraine's strategic planning.
US Support for Ukraine’s Defence
During the meeting, President Biden will emphasize the US' unwavering support for Ukraine's defence against Russian aggression. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated, “The President and Vice President will stress their commitment to stand with Ukraine until it prevails in this war.”
Zelenskyy’s Plan for Victory
Zelenskyy is expected to present Ukraine’s "Plan for Victory," detailing the strategy for the war and seeking further US assistance. He will also address the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and hold bilateral talks with global leaders during his US visit.
Meetings with US Leaders and Congress
In addition to meeting with Biden, Zelenskyy will engage with Vice President Kamala Harris and representatives of the US Congress from both parties. The Ukrainian leader will also meet with former President Donald Trump and American defence companies.
US Continues Support Amid War
The US has supported Ukraine since the war began in 2022, providing military aid and imposing sanctions on Russia. White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan mentioned that Biden is focused on putting Ukraine in the "best position to prevail" in the war.
