Russian citizens clash with cops against military mobilisation drive to aid Ukraine war [Watch]

Russian citizens continued to demonstrate at odds with President Vladimir Putin's decree where he gave an order for a 'partial' military mobilisation to aid the Kremlin's war in Ukraine. A number of videos on the internet display Russians protesting against the military mobilisation and clashing with the police.

A video put out on social media showed a number of protesters congregating in Dagestan in South Russia as the police opened fire in the air to disperse the mass.

A different video displayed a group of women chasing away a police officer at the anti-mobilisation protest in Dagestan.

Earlier on September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared a partial military mobilisation in Russia to aid the ageing Russian military.

“Only citizens who are currently in the reserve and, above all, those who served in the Armed Forces, have certain military specialties and relevant experience, will be subject to conscription,” Putin said, adding that the order for partial mobilisation was signed.

After this, reports surfaced ex-military men, largely below the age of 35, were handed written notices in their offices or at their homes. However, reports also suggested students, older or sick people being mistakenly ordered to report for duty.

Russia launched a military offensive in Ukraine in February this year, which Vladimir Putin called a "special operation" to demilitarise and "denazify" its neighbour.

Currently, Kremlin is conducting referendums in four eastern Ukrainian regions, with the aim of annexing territory to Russia.
