Rubiales' Resignation Announcement
In an announcement made through X (formerly Twitter), Rubiales stated, “Today, I notified the interim president at 930 pm, Mr. Pedro Rocha, that I have resigned as President of RFEF.”

Resignation from UEFA Position
Rubiales also informed Mr. Rocha that he was stepping down from his position in UEFA, allowing for the vice-presidency role to be filled.

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) confirmed that Rubiales had submitted his resignation not only as the chief of the Spanish Football Association but also as vice president of UEFA.

Election for a New President
Following Rubiales' resignation, the federation’s board of directors will initiate an election process to select a new president.

Controversy Surrounding the Kiss
