Ukrainian man bids farewell to his little girl and stays behind to fight, watch emotional moment
Ukraine came up against an invading Russian force that is much bigger than all its armed services combined. As Russian forces entered breakaway eastern Ukraine areas this morning and began operations to destroy major Ukrainian military facilities.
Many people have taken to social media to share posts about Ukrainians leaving home for the frontlines or staying back to fight. In one such post, a Ukrainian man can be seen hugging his daughter at a safe zone, from where she would be taken to a shelter. The man would stay back to fight the Russian forces. He is in tears, so is the daughter.
The tweet put out by New News EU says, "A father who sent his family to a safe zone bid farewell to his little girl and stayed behind to fight..."

However, Russian shellings were heard in the capital city Kyiv and several other cities, which are outside the two breakaway areas in eastern Ukraine that Russia initially said its forces would remain.
Ukraine said Russian forces had managed to get to the region around Kyiv and a battle was going on for the possession of an airbase. According to News agency AFP, people in the northern part of Kyiv saw many low-flying helicopters overhead.
In his televised address, Vladimir Putin justified the attack as a defence of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk republics located in the eastern part of Ukraine.
The invasion has prompted Western warnings of unprecedented sanctions against Russia as the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), the European Union (EU) and G7 leaders condemned Russia's actions and vowed to hold Moscow responsible.
