'The Cops Were Called On Me For Flying While Fat & Black', Black Joy Mixtape co-host Amber Phillips

The 28-year-old Amber Phillips, a writer and co-host of podcast Black Joy Mixtape from Washington was returning home from Raleigh-Durham. She boarded an American Airlines flight but as soon as she stepped on the plane, she noticed something strange. It was a 65 seats flight with two in each row.

She sat next to a woman passenger whom she described in a tweet to be 'white' but what was strange about the whole setup was that their arms were touching.

Initially, she hoped that the co-passenger doesn't treat me mean. But, a few moments later she looked at her and said, "Can you move over?." Puzzled by the co-passengers attitude, she said, "No, I actually can't. I'm in the window seat."

This annoyed the passenger and she was losing her temper and getting pissed because of the limited space they had to adjust it.

In a tweet, Phillips shared, "I wasn't going to say anything because I know how hard it is for people who are perceived as fat to say, 'I was mistreated,'

In a viral tweet, she also wrote, "The cops were called on me for flying while fat & Black."As the flight progressed, Philips co-passenger woman rested her ankle on her own her knee, making her foot facing Phillips.

She started pushing her towards the window. Phillips said, "I said, 'you're being awful, don't let the bottom of your foot touch me," However, she did not adust rather repeated Phillips words.

Then after things turned weird and there was a verbal spat. Phillips picked up her phone and started recording the whole episode. While woman tried to block her face, Phillips' complained to a flight attendant about Phillips.

They were forced to get down at Reagan National Airport. The flight attendant announced that she was calling the police.
