Rising Republican Star, governor Eric Greitens of Missouri resigns amidst sex scandal

The Republic governor of Missouri, Eric Greitens has quit office amidst sex scandal allegations and a threat of impeachment.

In a live-streamed announcement, the 44-year-old governor said, "Let’s walk off the battlefield with our heads held high,” He also added that the scandal was framed to cause him harm and tarnish his reputation,“It is clear that for the forces who oppose us there is no end in sight."

He has been in the office since January 2017 and is the first Jewish governor. Before becoming the governor, he was a former Navy SEAL. He was considered a very strong candidate for the Presidential run until an allegation of photographing naked woman forcefully made around the corner.

While the charges of an extramarital affair have been dropped against him, he still faces charges of creating fake political donor list from a separate veterans charity that he founded.
