Mother and her newborn baby test coronavirus positive in London
Amid coronavirus outbreak, a mother and her newborn child have been tested positive in London. According to the reports, the mother was admitted to the North Middlesex University Hospital days before her delivery over fears she had contracted pneumonia.
Reportedly, her coronavirus test report came positive after she had given birth to her child. Later, her child was also tested positive with COVID-19.
Both mother and her child are being treated at separate hospitals as doctors are investigating whether the child affected with the virus in the womb or after birth.
The baby remains at the hospital while the mother has been shifted to a specialist isolation ward in the hospital.
Even in China too, the same case also reported last month where newborn baby infected with the virus because of the infected mother, according to British media reports.
Meanwhile, coronavirus cases in London have been increasing rapidly as 136 are under treatment.
Recently, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared the outbreak of a global pandemic as over 140,000 people have been affected by the virus across 114 countries.
Till now, over 5,000 people have died after contracting COVID-19 across the world.
