Woman stabs husband to death, walks into police station with his severed head

In a recent development coming in from Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati, a 50-year-old woman murdered her husband and decapitated him over suspicious of illicit affair.

The woman, identified as Vasundhara stabbed her husband, identified as Ravichandar, aged 53 to death and chopped off his head. She then walked into a police station with her husband’s severed head, and gave herself up.

The peculiar killing appalled the small temple town of Renigunta in Tirupati after coming to sight on Thursday.

Ravichandar, a businessman by profession and Vasundhara tied the knot 25 years back. They have a 20-year-old son and lived at Bugga Street in Renigunta.

As per reports, the couple’s married life had been smooth sailing for the most part. However, they hit a rough patch recently and used to fight quite often. On Thursday, a war of words erupted between the Vasundhara and Ravichandar, who had come home late the night before.

According to police, Vasundhara stabbed Ravichandar indiscriminately to death, chopped off his head, and arrived at the police station in an auto, with her husband’s head wrapped in a plastic bag. She then surrendered.

A case of murder has been lodged and Ravichandar’s body has been sent to Tirupati Ruai Hospital for autopsy.

The police are yet to discover the full details and motive behind the murder, but believe Vasundhara suspected Ravichandar of having an extramarital affair, which infuriated her.
