West Bengal Horror: Jilted lover beheads his 18-year-old girlfriend, then kills himself

A horrifying incident took place in Howrah district of West Bengal on Wednesday where an 18-year-old class 12th girl was beheaded allegedly by a jilted lover.

The accused has been identified as 30-year-old Ajit Bag, who attacked the girl with a chopper at Bhowanipore. The appalling incident took place near the girl’s home in Udaynarayanpur. She was a class 12th student in Uluberia’s school, died on the spot.

According to a report in Times of India, after killing the girl, he hanged himself from a tree. Police recovered his body at Joypur, at least 6km from Udaynaraynpur.

The reason behind the man took such an extreme step was that the girl rejected his proposal, a police officer told.

According to the reports in timesnownews.com, “We are probing the student's murder and the death of the man,” said Soumya Ray, Howrah SP.

Previously, a similar incident took place on May 15, where a one-sided lover in Delhi allegedly shot himself outside the woman’s residence after he failed to meet her due to the nationwide lockdown.

The jilted lover identified as Vickey, who was upset as he was not being able to meet his female friend. The incident took place at Swarnjayanti Vihar of Narela in North Delhi.

Reportedly, the woman is married and interestingly, her husband is an undertrial. After arriving at their residence, he allegedly shot himself with an illegal weapon. To propose the woman the man had travelled 40 kilometers from Kotla Mubarakpur in South Delhi.
