Weather Update: Heavy rainfall warning for several states; check complete forecast here

The India Meteorological Department, in its latest weather bulletin, said that the eastern states are expected to receive heavy rainfall in the coming days. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected over several northeastern states.

As per the weather department, a fresh spell of rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy showers is likely to start over Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal from September 20th. These activities will extend to East-central and East India during the subsequent 3-4 days.

Meanwhile, the IMD has predicted subdued rainfall activity over Northeast India and the South Peninsular in the coming days.

The Western Himalayan region, which includes parts of Uttarakhand, and some parts of Uttar Pradesh, may receive downpour till September 21, said the Met office.

Odisha may witness isolated very heavy rainfall on September 21 and September 22. The weather department has also predicted heavy falls with thunderstorms and lightning till September 20 over Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
