UP: Woman home guard accuses police officer of molesting her on duty
A women home guard in Uttar Pradesh police has accused a police officer of molesting her while she was on duty.
The incident happened on 24th April under Iglas police station in Aligarh district. The women is posted at Iglas police station.
As per a report in Amar Ujali, the women alleged that the sub-inspector posted in local police station tried to molest her with an intention to sexually assault her.
In the meantime, the victim has filed a complaint with Aligarh Senior Superintendent of Police against that police inspector. The SSP transfered the matter to Circle Officer, Iglas.
Speaking to Mirror, Circle Officer Parashuram Singh stated, "All the allegations by woman home guard are baseless. She did not want to report to work. She is a woman she could claim anything. I have sent the probe report to the Superintendent of Police (Rural)."
In her complaint, the victim has said that the incident happened on 24th April while she was on duty at a local bank. "The accused sub-inspector reached the spot and asked me about my duty in the roster. He then misbehaved with me and told me to come along with him. When I protested, he tried to drag me," the victim alleged in her complaint.
As the women raised an alarm, the locals reached the spot and the police inspector ran away from the spot threatening the women.
The women then reached the local police station from where she was turned away. The victim claimed that another women had filed a molestation complaint against the same inspector in the past.
